From humble beginnings as a line cook to his accession within the ranks of leading restaurant group Blue Bridge Hospitality, Ronnie has dedicated his time and energy to kitchens around San Diego, helping to further the city’s gastronomic transformation. Having graduated with a degree from the San Diego Culinary Institute in 2008, Ronnie joined the team at Amaya within the AAA Five Diamond luxury resort, Fairmont Grand Del Mar. Cutting his chops under renowned local culinary leaders including Cameron Woods (Omni Hotels, The Ranch at Laguna Beach, Amaya La Jolla) and Jason McLeod (Ironside Fish & Oyster, Ria), Ronnie became lead line cook and trainer. In 2010, Ronnie earned his first leading title as the opening sous chef alongside Owner and Executive Chef Brandon Fortune at the former Aquamoree in La Jolla, before eventually landing with Blue Bridge Hospitality as the Chef de Cuisine of Leroy’s Kitchen & Lounge. Alongside the group’s Executive Chef Tim Kolanko, Ronnie upholds his dedication to seasonality and freshness, crafting globally-inspired fare that has come to define the island staple for both locals and visitors alike.
